Hello, friends,

Alrighty.... I need some suggestions here.....

Don't worry! This shouldn't put you out too much. LOL!

Okay, I am looking for a super-duper, good, fabulous, wonderful, marvelous, miracle cleaning product that I can use in my shower. I don't like soap scums at all. Who does, right? Anyhow, I am in need of suggestions from what you may use that would work super-duper, good, fabulicious, wonderful, marvelous, and miracle like.

Do you know of anything that would help a sista out??????

Patiently waiting and until then............................

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!

I'm curious on this one too, if anyone has a good suggestion, because I can't seem to find one that works really good. CLR is pretty good, but not like they show on the commercials! LOL

Have a great 3 day Valentine weekend!!

Please post if you get a good answer! I need one. If you can find one that will come in and scrub itself it would be even better!

Mr. Clean magic eraser sponge with some scrubbing bubbles.
Trust me.

The scrubbing bubbles works really well by itself. Spray on, rinse off.
But with the magic eraser, you can get almost any mark or scum off.

Sorry, I've got no good suggestions for you. Let us know if anyone comes up with any good ones!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Scrubbing bubbles works well for me.

OH GIRL! I have fought this one too. I have tried everything. I finally found something that works great for our shower! First I use one of those antibacterial wipes and then Windex!

Seriously, I've tried everything, and the above combo works like MAGIC!

Good luck!

I use Grease Lightning. I like the way it cleans. The only thing I don't like is its strong smell. When I use it for the enclosed shower I end up inhaling too many fumes and start hacking my head off. I hope you find something out there. Let us know if you find that "miracle" cleaner.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Daphine, funny you should post this because I've been wondering the same thing. I don't know if it's the soap products now or what, but it seems that the film is worse. Interesting to see what other people say.

I dropped in to wish you a lovely Valentine's Day with all of your sweeties! You are so precious to me, and I want you day and your heart to be just filled to overflowing with all the love it can hold and the blessings of the Lord to boot! I hope you know how special you are, Daphine.

Happy Valentine's Day! Sending you much, much love!

XO,

Sheila :-)

I use the scrubbing bubbles automatic shower cleaner right after we shower and then when I scrub the tub I will hand scrub the walls of the shower with Bon Ami cleaner. I love that stuff. It works amazing on the tubs and does pretty good on the walls. I just use a brush along with it. And it's safe, no toxic chemicals or fumes. Good luck!

I've tried several differnt things, but nothing works the way I'd like. I'm going to try the magic eraser...sounds like a winner. Good luck and Happy Valentine's Day!

Don't know of any miracle ones. We use soft scrub with bleach. But it takes some scrubbing. I hate to do the bath tub. ugh.
Happy Valentines day to you too!

Who doesn't like soap scum??? Well, I for one thinks it adds a little decor to the tub. Forget about the little non-skid ducks and bubbles at the bottom of the tub. hee hee

Ok--- all joking aside, I echo the comments about the eraser.I have no favorite cleanser. I just use whatever I have a coupon for! HA~ I use it for SOO many things.

Is your shower fiberglass or tile? I have a tile shower and have struggled to find the right combo to combat occassional mildew and then the soap scum. Many of the cleaners with bleach leave horrible white drip marks. I will be curious to see what you discover.

I haven't seen anyone say Pine Sol which works magic and it lasts a long time because you mix it with water to dilute it. I also love the smell. You will love the magic eraser as well because it does exactly what it says it supposed to - it really erases anything. Good luck!

Magic eraser and scrubbing bubbles works for me.

I hope you have wonderful valentines!

Stacey said...

That would be my husband's job. He uses CLR and then uses Lysol shower cleaner. It's a long process that doesn't happen often enough.

Don't spend your weekend that way!!

Ya know what works REALLY well and you always have on hand? Dish detergent or shampoo!!!

Seriously...wet a cleaning cloth or sponge, and pour just a little bit of either onto the sponge. Rub it on, rinse it off. You won't believe the shine! Nothing else I've tried comes close to it. :o)

Let me know if you try it!

April said...

I have yet to find anything that works well on soap scum, too! I use Lysol spray cleaner and it does alright, but not fantastic. Sorry I'm not of much help to ya!

Hope you're having a Happy Valentine's Day with the ones you love!!!♥

PS...Tonight's the night we finally meet Drew...I'll keep you posted!

Scrubbing bubbles foam spray works best for the tub itself - but use the magic eraser for the shower doors! Both of them together should tackle any scum. :) -- Or, better yet, hire a housecleaner!

I dont have a favorite.. every time I need to buy a cleaner, I get something new. Right now Im using Arm and Hammer.. no scrub or something. It's in a yellow/orange bottle and it's been working pretty well for me! I usually spray, let it sit, rinse, spray again, and scrub a little then rinse. Even if a cleaner says no scrubbing needed, I always scrub! Hope you find something that works well for you!
Happy Valentines Day!

Hey Daphine. I mentioned you in my blog post today about blogs I love, if you have time and want to read it!

Daphine needing a soap scum removal product?!!! You keep things so absolutely spotless, I don't see how soap scum EVER found it's way into your shower!!!

Now, my shower, that's a whole other story....which is why I can tell you that CLR Bathroom and Kitchen Cleaner is the best!

Hopefully you have a little fun planned for the 3-day weekend - besides just cleaning shower scum!! :) Wish I had a good answer - my hubby cleans our shower..and I think it is the strong elbow grease more than anything - but it always looks nice!

Lorrie said...

I'm going to be watching for a good answer to the soap scum question. I've used Clean Shower for years and that helps cut down on some of the scrubbing, and I like Greased Lightening too, but I would still love to find the magic cleaner that really does the trick!

Happy Valentine's Day, enjoy your dinner out!

My husband bought a citrus cleaner a couple of years ago... it smelled great and worked wonders. I can't remember the name forsure maybe Citrol?? He got it from a Tyco distributor. I have been wanting to get more, nothing else has measured up. If I find out the forsure name and where to purchase it, I will write you back.

I like the sprayer that you hang from your shower head. It works really well and I only have to scrub the tub about once every two weeks. I use scrubbing bubbles and baking soda for this. I spray and let it sit for a couple of minutes about 15 and then gently scrub with a brush then rinse and my shower sparkles!

I can't think of anything at all : ). I don't use anything spectacular. Windex I think! What about that shower thing that turns and spins all around and cleans it for you. I forget what that is called. Have you ever heard of that? I hope you have the greatest day off tomorrow!

Daphine, I have that recipe for the egg rolls if you're still interested. Send me your email address:

Wow Daphine, you got a lot of great answers here. Now we need you to do some side by side comparrison cleanings and tell us which works best. :D

I'll post the soup and cinnamon crisps receipes on Tuesday. The great thing is that they are both easy.

Have a great week!!

I am so glad to know I am not the only one who has this problem. I don't have a magic cure. Just 409 & alotta elbow grease.

Take care my friend! I hope you do something fun on your day off besides cleaning the shower!

I always like to use scrubbing bubbles. When you spray it, it comes out like a white foam. Let it soak as directed on the can and wipe it off. Another thing I heard was good,,,,is Lime Away. It suppose to be good for cleaning hard water stains and soap scum....so I heard. I hope you find something. If you do, please share. Happy Monday!!!

Hi Daphine, how is your "coupon collecting" doing?
And how was your Valentine's Day? :)

Did you find a miracle product for your shower? I am anxiously awaiting the results of your survey : ).

Michelle said...

Ha! I'm glad you asked this because I need to know too! I actually use scrubbing bubbles and it works pretty well too. Hope you had a good Valentine's Day Daphine!

Hi! Popping over from another blog. Condolences on your grandfathers passing. He is in a much better place - in the presence of our Lord.

I don't know if you have tried or considered the natural route, but good 'ole baking powder and teatree oil do wonders. Outside of that 7th Generation has a bathroom cleaner that is really good. HTH

Have a blessed day!

I did not read all the comments so I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned what I use: baking soda. I hate having to smell the chemicals while I'm cleaning the tub. So I put more TLC instead of rushing the scrubbing part, baking soda works without the awful smell. This rids of the scum that builds up after looong baths by a dirty husband after a hard days work.

I would like to add my tub cleaner, Lime Away. It works for me!

I've been using Arm and Hammer Scrub Free Mildew Stain Remover with Bleach. It's amazing. I just spray it all over in the shower (the walls and tub too) and it gets all the mildew and scum out. I use it in the sink too. Great stuff!
