I need your expertise PLEASE....
For years, I have switched my mascara over and over and over! I have spent anywhere from $5 to $20 on mascara. I have found some that I like, but I've never found one that I just really LOVE.
I like my lashes to appear very long and definitely not matted together. I'm sure that's all of us right??
Anyhow, would you please share with me what kind of mascara you use? I must admit that I do get overwhelmed picking mascara out at the store since there are only a few hundred to choose from.
I recently tried L'oreal Double Extend mascara because it looked fabulous on one of my blogging buddies, Angela. She's such a beautiful woman! Anyhow, after reading her post about it, I ran out the next day and got it. It didn't work for me like it did her beautiful lashes:~(
So all being said, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE share what you use that make your lashes work for you.
I hope that you all have a fabulous weekend. All of sudden, the temperature has dropped to a whopping 42 degrees here in Dallas!!! It's supposed to be cold all weekend. How crazy is that?!?!?
Be blessed friends!

Can't wait to read what others say, I'm with you, I have tried a ton.
I like Great Lash by Mabelline - waterproof - in Very Black. It doesn't flake and irritate my eyes and it seperates the lashes so they don't clump. I usually use 2 coats - and the best part is it's only about $5.00!
I have to use hypo-allergic makeup due to many allergies...so, mine's by Clinique.
I bought Cover Girl lash blast this last time....at least that's what it looks like it says. All the print on it has rubbed off almost! I guess it's time for me to get some new mascara too! LOL I've liked this kind just fine though. It doesn't clump or anything like that. It's in an orange container and it's under $5. I am curious to see what everyone else uses too.
Have a wonderful weekend Daphine!! I'm still excited about your dream you mentioned the other day!
I've used several but Great Lash works well for me. I do recall a "no name" brand at Wal-Mart that I grabbed in a pinch once. It was a small tube and it was cheap but let me tell you it was PERFECT! I was so silly not to go back and get more. This was a few years ago. I have no idea the name. Ok, I'm not much help. Sorry about that.
O,MaryKay has good masscara also.
Here's my best tip about mascara whatever brand you end up using, once you remove the wand from the tube take a piece of tissue paper wadded up in your hand and put the wand on it and close your hand to remove the excess! Trust me this works wonders especially with new tubes that have a tendency to really be loaded heavily. This is a Kevin Aucoin trick and he really made a lot of beautiful women even more so with his makeup artistry! Then heat up your eyelash curler for a few seconds with your blow dryer, curl your lashes then apply your mascara. When you apply hold the wand at the base of your lashes and give it a twirl before pulling it thru to the ends of your lashes. This makes them fuller at the lash line and appear thicker not clumpy. I used L'oreal Voluminous and have for years! I love it! Try these tips, it can't hurt right? *smiles* Good luck!
I must admit-- I am gonna come back and take a look again. I am in need of some of thi myself! :)
BTW- be sure to visit my blog. I am having a giveaway- I'm sure it may be something that you & your girls can share! ;)
Mascara... everyday. A must.
If I'm buying I where the stuff that comes in the hot pink tube with the lime green top -- I think it's Cover Girl or Maybelline. If my mom is buying or the husband gives me a gift card to Sephora I splurge on Clinique.
Unfortunately I can't help you on this one. I'm sure you've noticed I don't wear much makeup. My eyes are freakishly sensitive. Any mascara I've ever tried makes them water like crazy. Not a good look to have black streaks running down your face all the time. So, best of luck to you and let us know what you decide on.
I've been wondering about this also. I like the kind of mascara that makes my lashes long. I don't care if they are fat!! I don't get that - they advertise fat eyelashes you know. :) Right now I have two different Cover Girls. Basically they were both great when I first opened them but quickly became gunky. I might try the L'oreal Voluminous...that sounds fat though.
You are beautiful regardless.
Sephora or Mac. There is a Sephora store at Northpark & Willow Bend.
I don't wear mascara often. My lashes are naturally dark so I can get by with it. I usually put it on if I am dressing up. I wear Mary Kay so that's where I got the mascara. When I do wear it; I really like it. I hope that you find something that works for you.
I LOVE ALL THINGS Cover Girl.
BTW...if you want to join in on 7 giveaways you can surely do that...not all my comments are participants, so come and play please!!!!
I cannot help you...I do not wear make up but on Sundays, and I don't even know what kind of mascara I use. Isnt that the saddest thing you have ever heard? Ugh.
Right now I'm using Ultimate Mascara by Mary Kay! It's Great!! Also, in the past I've tried one from Clinique..it was a 2-part application..first with "white"..kind of like to prepare the lashes...can't remember what you call it but it causes the mascara to apply really well and makes your lashes "out there"...
Hope this helps!

First of all, let me say that I have piddly little eyelashes to begin with, so it's always a stretch for me to get them to look full and lush. The mascara that seems to work best for me is Revlon's Fabulash. I always use the waterproof version...just seem to stay on better. It makes my eyeslashes look fuller and longer. Hey, I'll take whatever I can get at this point in my life! :)
Daphine,
I use Sheer Cover mineral make up and the mascara comes with it so it is their brand. I'm not happy happy with it. But I refuse to spend more $$ on mascara when it comes with my mineral make up. So I wish you much luck, my friend, on this search because I would love a great mascara too!
Blessings to you!
I use Telescopic by L'Oreal it works really good for me it lengthens them with no clumping and I have very thin eyelashes good luck I enjoyes reading everyone comments too! Oh and the color is Carbon Black
Here is a tip I got once, that I love!!
Don't plunge the wand in and out of the tube. pull it out, use, and redip if needed. Plunging it puts air in and dries out the mascara, making it clumpy.
once a week wash the wand with hot water and soap. :)
There....
I switch a lot too, so I am excited to see if people have a fave.
hmm, i can't help you with that one. i don't wear make up on a daily basis. i only wear it for special occasions and i use the double extend mascara. it works for me. i hope you find one you like!
I'm sorry, but I can't be of any help you here!
I've actually never worn makeup.... *GASP* I know.... I'm just a plain jane kinda gal, I guess! ;o)
Covergirl has this new mascara that matches your eye shade. I like the brush and the colors have little flakes of shimmer, but nothing crazy.
I love mascara! If I am going to wear any make-up, it's going to be blush and mascara. But I am a life-long loyal Mary Kay user. So that is what I use. I do like it, though. It seems to work well for me. Hope you find one that does for you. Take care my friend!
I really like AVON. And, I have found a key to keeping them good is replacing them every 3 months. AVON's are often on-sale for $3.99 a tube. Happy hunting. :)
I don't really wear make-up. If anything, I wear lipstick. However, some of my girlfriends tend to like the off-brand they buy from the drugstore. And I also heard some great things about Covergirl.
I hope you find the brand you're looking for. Blessings to you!!
Fun read! Great post. I got some good tips. : )
For a long time I used Almay (it's hypo-allergenic), but I now use Voluminous by L'oreal and Pencil Perfect eyeliner by the same. I find that eyeliner is even more important for me than mascara. I read that somewhere once that a famous makeup artist said they would never leave their house without eyeliner. I'm not crazy about this mascara, but I haven't found any I love in a long time. There was one that I can't find anymore, and I can't even remember the name... but I liked it. :-)
XO,
Sheila :-)
Hi Daphine! I've been using my Bare Escentuals mascara and I love it. But, my friend told me she loves her Clinique mascara too!
After many hit and misses...I've started buying what's the cheapest. I've been lucky to find some I'm happy with...ok, so I like L'oreal natural lash. I really like Neutrogena wax free mascara as well. HTH
I never spend too much on mascara because you have to get new like every 2 or 3 months. So, Great Lash, Great Lash, Great Lash! Pink and green tube by Mabelline. I've tried many different ones as well and I always go back to the original that I've used for years. Good luck!
Mascara is one thing I rarely leave even my bedroom without - and certainly never the house! How is it that one day the mascara looks great...and the next, the very same mascara is clummy and no good? Maybe its more operator error and not so much the product!
Hi daphine
Sorry I am no help to you. I rarely use mascara as my eyes don't like it! My optician suggested I stop using it as I kept getting eye infections.
Hope you find one you like. Looks like you have receieved lots of suggestions and I may try some of them myself.
Best Wishes
Lindsay
I'm not much of a make-up wearer. Sorry I can't help. I've had the same mascara for atleast 3 years and I only wear it about once a month - yes, I know you aren't suppose to keep it that long.
Good luck! I don't think I knew that you were right down the road in Dallas!
You can't go wrong with the pink and green tube! I've been using it for over 20 years!
Okay, I am a make-up junkie. I love it all. I love trying all the new and hip stuff out there. Right now, I am using three.. yes, THREE different mascaras, lol.
L'OREAL Paris Original Voluminous. I use this one just because I like the full effect it gives my eyelashes. I noticed after awhile it starts to clump a lot easier though. But I really like it.
I always go back to Maybelline New York Volum' Express Turbo Boost. Love it.
ANd then my newest one is Maybelline's Define-a-Lash. It really makes my lashes look longer.. but I always use something on top. because it's not as thick as I like.
It all really depends on your preference, I guess. But those are the 3 I am alternating with right now. Next month there will probably be a new one, lol.
Oh, I forgot to add Lash Blast by COvergirl in the orange tube is great, too. Really love that one!
I buy a new brand each time I buy mascara. Right now I'm using Max Factor 2000 Calorie. I like any kind by L'Oreal. I always go for the lengthening ones.
Great Lash never did much for me.
I only tried the L'Oreal Double Extend mascara because they wanted me to try it out...and it was free! :D It works ok if applied properly....but takes too much time if in a rush...which I usually am.
Right now I am trying out Physician's Formula mascara and I really like it. It's around $15 here in Canada.
I have tried a few too, trying to find the right one. I used Avon's Professional Mascara by Jillian Dempsey (McDreamy's wife), which did pretty good, but when it gets close to the 3 month mark, it dries out bigtime. I guess it has it's own built-in usage timer! LOL It has a big brush for the upper lashes and a small one for the lower lashes. I also use Maybelline's XXL Extensions mascara, which has the white primer on one end and the mascara on the other. It works pretty good. My daughter just bought me a tube of the L'Oreal Double Extend and I tried it for the first time yesterday. It's pretty cool. It made it look like I had longer lashes! My biggest problem is that my lashes are wild!!! One day they are fine and then lo and behold, they decide to bunch up together or a couple of lashes want to go the opposite way from each other! Go figure. I'm about to try Avon's Daring Curves mascara, when I place my next order. It claims that the lashes are 65% curlier. We'll see......
Be Blessed!
~Chondra
I'm with your second poster: Brandi.
As to the "cold" 42 degree weather: I'm jealous. You're so blessed! I live in northern Ohio and get lake-effect snow often, so our "cold" is -10 with wind chills even lower than that.
Perhaps I should move to Texas...
