This week Iris has chosen the topic 5 senses. This will be fun!
I am thankful for;
My sight ~ I love being able to see and study God's Word for myself. I love watching my girls turning into wonderful and beautiful young ladies. I love the fact that after wearing glasses for almost 20 years my teenager taught me (just this year) how to put contacts in and then spent an hour a day with me for 2 weeks in making sure I could take them out. I enjoyed seeing her put her contacts in so quickly and saying to myself..."One day, I will be able to do that." I did eventually learn to put them in a month later.
My hearing ~ Dirk has never hung up the phone or left home without saying, "I love you." There have been times that I've taken these three words for granted. I am thankful to hear these words several times a day. I love being able to hear Praise and Worship music. I love being able to hear my pastor, teachers, and other ministers teach from God's Word.
My sense of smell ~ I burn candles almost daily. I love being able to smell one of my favorite candles buring throughout my home. I love the scent of a clean home and floors freshly mopped. I love the smell of Mexican or Italian food.
My sense of taste ~ I LOVE the taste of either the banana spring roll dessert at PF Chang's or the chocolate molten cake at Chili's!!!! I will take either one any day of the week. Love 'em equally the same. I love me some good ole' Blue Bell vanilla ice cream. It may be hard to believe after listing the desserts, but I love the taste of a good chicken casaer salad.
My sense of touch ~ I am a hugger by nature. I love hugging Dirk and the girls especially, but I love hugging friends as well. I wouldn't have a problem with hugging a stranger (preferably a woman) if I was in their presence and it would obvious that they needed to be comforted. Let me not leave out that I also love to be hugged.

Sweet blessings.
Just beautiful, Daphine. I am proud of the fact that Bryan and I always tell each other we love each other too. I can't tell you how many times I hear my friends just get off the phone with their spouses and just say "bye". It really gets to me. What if that is the last time you see them? I think it's very important.
I'm not even going to touch those desserts because there can't possibly be a dessert out there that I don't like.
I really enjoyed your post! I just posted mine on there too, but I used my one "theme." Am I supposed to use the one that Iris puts up? Anyhow..you have a beautiful family!! God bless you!
Daphine,
What a beautiful thankful heart you have! Loved your post!
Blessings to you, sweet sis!
I love this, Daphine!! The more I learn about you, the more I realize that we think alike in so many ways.
Chris and I always tell each other "I love you" and I say it to my girls every chance I get. We do a lot of hugging around here, as well, and I, too, wouldn't have a problem hugging a stranger who's in need.
Do you know that as much as I love chocolate, I have yet to try a chocolate molten cake from Chili's? What is wrong with me?? Brittany has already told me that it's to die for!
Thank you so much for sharing this post...I'm off to shower, then to vote! I've heard the lines here have been 5 hours long!!!!! Not going to be fun, I'm afraid!
Daphine, I love your thankful posts! Way to go with the contacts, and I'll share a dessert with you any day.
Daphine this is such a good post. It really tells so much about you and your family. What a great story about your daughter helping with your contact lenses. It is so wonderful seeing our kids grow up and getting glimpses of the adults that they're turning into. I do think that I'm thankful for many of the same things that you are. I feel blessed to have a husband and children that I love dearly just as you do.
I really love this list. About the sense of sight - if you ever have time scroll back on my blog a little and read about my husband's sight. It is definitely not to be taken for granted.
I sure am enjoying your blog!!
I love what you wrote in about your "sound" so wonderful what a blessing!

That was the other Alicia~~Since she has such a great name, I will have to go check out her blog. Take care, my friend!
Wonderful list.
I also have candles going all the time. Maybe we need to swap our favorite candles!! :)
Hi Daphne!!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting me yesterday!! I love meeting new people.
I just read through your "Thankfuls", and this made me realize how much we take our senses for granted. As for me, I love the taste of my first sip of coffee in the morning--and this made me wonder how it would be if I couldn't taste this.
How would it be if I couldn't feel the comfort of someone's hand on mine or their arm around my shoulder when I just needed it?
How would it be if I couldn't hear my children say, "I love you"?
How would it be?
Thank you for your "thankfuls"--makes me so much more grateful for these things I just tend to take for granted.

THANKS SO MUCH for the sweet comments (and compliments). I think the boys have beautiful eyes too, but you know I'm their Mom. So it doesn't count, right? Hehehe
