Happy Birthday To My Sweet Husband!!!

So, today was Dirk's 40th Birthday! Wow! It is sooooooooooooooooo hard to believe that he is 40 years old today!!!! He was nineteen when I first met him.

I pray that he will have many more birthdays to come. I pray that God will continue to shine in and through him as Dirk continues to serve Him. I pray that Dirk will continue to be the worry- free guy that he's always been (I've always loved that about him). He's truly one of those people who will not worry about anything. I so wish that I could master this one! I pray that this new birthday year will be even better than the last one. I pray that Dirk will continue to be as happy and as content with his life as he's always been ever since he was a little boy. He never complains about life in general like most people do - including me at times. He truly lives one day at a time and enjoys the day at hand. I thank God for blessing me so many years ago with this feller!!

Dirk told me a little while ago that he really enjoyed his day today! I wanted to do the big 40th birthday party for him, but he requested months ago that I didn't. So, the girls and I took him to dinner at his favorite restuarant, Abuelo's. Woo hoo!!!

The girls were so sweet about wanting to buy their OWN gifts for him. Since they both do chores around the house, they have the opportunity to make some spending money. Jae had saved $10 and wanted to buy Dad the newest Stephen King book that ending up costing $10.81. Morgan convinced her that this would be a really good present for Dad so she ended up paying the tax for Jae. Morgan bought him a computer game. She spent all the money she had saved except for about $7. I tried to talk her out of it by saying that Dad would not want her to spend all of her money on him. As I think about how excited they were in buying Dad's gift, it pleases my heart to know that at such a young age that they are so giving and want to be a blessing to their Dad. So sweet!

And I have planned something very special for his 40th birthday. For several reasons, I am not going to go into the details about it now, but will post after it happens.

For now, just enjoy some pictures of my sweet husband's day with him and his girls!

Happy Birthday Sweetheart! We love you more than words can say!

Hi Daphine!

I tried posting a comment on your newest post, but the comment link isn't showing. I don't know what happened! I will try, again, later.

That song is very powerful...I've never heard it before. Thank you so much for posting it on a day when so many of us are stressed about it being Election Day. Helps to keep everything in the proper perspective.

Blessings to you today, my friend!
