A couple of weeks ago, Dirk and I were reminded of a dream that we both had a few years ago. Strangely, as the Lord would have it, we were both reminded of this dream a week apart. In fact, the day that I was so focused and consumed with it, I couldn't wait to get home from work to share it with him. I must tell you that we closed the door on this dream almost five years ago because of the financial aspects as well as other responsibilities we had at the time. It's a long story that I hope to share with you all one day.
In any case, at that time (almost five years ago), we left this dream behind. In fact, neither one of us had ever talked about it again until a couple of weeks ago. As I was driving home this particular Friday, I was going over in my head how to bring this dream up to Dirk and trying to make sense out of why had this dream come to me again after all this time, right?
I could hardly let him put his stuff down from the office before I started in with what was on my mind. After getting just a couple of sentences out of what was on my mind, Dirk said, "It's funny that you are talking about this as I was just thinking about the same thing last week!" "WHAT!?!?!?!?" I asked. Yep, isn't this a trip?
Anyhow, I could go on and on, but there's much to tell and I will share the dream one day, but I could never do it in one post. So, in time...I'll share exactly what that dream is. It's BIG and will take the Lord to bring it to fruition.
I wasn't going to share any of this at all just yet, but tonight we were reading a devotional that was clearly meant for us and perhaps many of you. I won't share the whole devotion, but these three sentences spoke volumes to us tonight as to where we are with this dream that the Lord has so clearly reminded us of.
Here's goes:
"God is never intimidated by the size of the enemy or the complexity of a problem. With Him, there are always enough resources to resist the pressures and win your battles. If God has called you to action, then bravely commit what few resources you have to God and rely upon Him to give you the victory."
As I read the last sentence over and over and over, tears of joy flowed down my face. Try applying this to whatever you're going through right now or whatever dream you may have that seems SO BIG and you know that God has called you into action to take that step.
Pretty POWERFUL, huh?

I too cannot wait to here what God has in store for you. That is an awesome quote.
"What a mighty God we serve!
What a mighty God we serve!
Angels bow before Him,
Heaven and earth adore Him,
What a mighty God we serve!"
That song just came to mind when I read this, and yes, I needed some encouragment. Great post, Daphine!
Finally up from air from that big week and am going to rest through this one.
Love to you, and I can't wait to hear what it is you have to share with us...

"If God has called you to action, then bravely commit what few resources you have to God and rely upon Him to give you the victory."
This is total confirmation to what I just blogged about. Praise God for His faithfulness and grace.
Blessings, Heaven
Very powerful my friend.
Oh my goodness, Daphine! I love that way of looking at it, about just doing what you can and letting God take over the rest! I am so excited for whatever this dream is for you and Dirk. I know that whatever your dream is, that God never puts a dream in your heart without giving you the tools to achieve that dream, so I will pray that one day your dream will be a reality!
I look forward to hearing about it one day!
Daphine..wow, that is very powerful! I'm going to write that one down!!!
Oh, I can't wait to hear about this dream! Nothing is ever to big for God to fulfill!!

God is amazing and He works wonders in our lives every single day!
Have a good day!
ps...thank you again for all of your sweet comments that you leave when you visit my blog. I am glad we are friends!
I love when people live out the call that God has put on their lives. I love seeing how God uses our little yes's to make HUGE things happen. I believe in you and Dirk and whatever your dream is. If there is anything we (your loyal fans/readers) can do to help, please let us know.
I'm sending that quote you had to one of the youth at my church. God put it on her heart to host a basketball tournament to raise money for Nothing But Nets to buy bed nets for kids in Africa to prevent malaria. She tried and didn't get enough registrations but rescheduled for next month and I think it will be great. It's all about stepping out and trusting God and I know that if you trust Him he'll make your ideas succeed. I'm VERY excited for you!
Daphine, you have no idea what a comfort and what an encouragement those words were to me this morning. Thank you. We are facing something big right now... something that is a lot bigger than me... and I needed to be reminded that God is never intimidated (because I sure am)!
Can't wait to hear more about your dream and what God is doing in your life.
I can't wait to hear what you will be sharing with us.
Also, in your last post you would never know you were EVER afraid of a dog. Looks like you have had them your whole life....too CUTE!!
great verse! i can't wait to hear the rest of your dream that you two have. God is definitely telling you two something if you're both having it and you're both having it around the same time as each other. Girl you have to listen!
Amen my friend! Thanks for this wonderful reminder. Nothing is impossible with God!
Wow great verse I can't wait to find out what your dream is...
Have a great day!
God so totally rocks!
Awesome Post :)
Sweet Sister, this message is so timely!
I don't have to know the dream but I know it's something pretty awesome sister! I pray for God's timing and perfect will to be done as you both step out by faith and trust God. I'm excited for you.
Love you.

Oh wow that is so powerful. This happen to me with the birth of Madison. My doctors told me that I could not have any children, but I kept on believing in the God I served and I knew he would give me my hearts desire.
A year before she was born I had a dream that I would be a mom. I went to the doctor again in Oct 07 and they told me again that I could not have a child. Well I went back 6 months later in April 08 to get some test done and I found out I was 5 months along.
I never gave up on that dream. If God said it, and he wants it, it will come to pass. So whatever your dream is, if it is Gods will it will happen.
I'm having issue with the fact that you are teasing us....what is the DREAM?????? Can't wait to hear what God is going to do.
That is very powerful and a wonderful reminder to us!
