A Reminder That God Answers Prayer

I normally wouldn't share something this personal for the whole world to know, but I felt that if it could bless just one person reading it, then it was well worth it.

Here goes;

As I was leaving the office yesterday and getting into my car, the Lord dropped in my spirit that I needed to send my mother a certain amount of money. The amount was not a huge amount at all. I have to admit (though I am ashamed of it now) that I even laughed because it not only caught me off guard, but also that the amount was such a small amount. Anyhow, still not completely understanding, I wrote a check out when I got home and dropped it in the mail.

Again, this was not something that I had planned on sharing with anyone (other than Dirk, of course).

My oldest sister called me to discuss the annual October Fest that was coming to their town and was asking if I could bring the girls to it. We talked about several other things in the course of our conversation. Right before we were about to hang up, she said, "Oh, Mom's phone is going to be turned off because she didn't have enough money to pay the bill." I asked her if she knew how much was needed since Mom had not shared this with me directly. My sister said, "Oh, she needed another $____ in order to keep her phone on."

Would you believe that it was the EXACT same amount that the Lord told me to send? Isn't this just like the Lord?

I was so thankful to not only hear the Lord's voice, but even more thankful that I obeyed!

I am sure that my mom had already prayed to the Lord for help in this area with her finances. Little did she know that the Lord was already working on her behalf.

Daphine, I am not at all shocked that the Lord spoke to you. He works in mysterious ways. Last year, my husband caught a very bad staph infection (MRSA) in his face. He had three small surgeries amd was out of work for a month and ran out of PAL. We had just moved into a new home with a substantially higher mortgage. We should have lost everything but the bills kept getting paid. To this day we wonder about it and how my salary could have stretched that far. All I can figure is the good Lord above was watching out for us. He is here and he listens. Thanks for sharing that wonderful story!

Oh wow this is an amazing story!
As you know from my Blog he's been working for me too :-)
I have had debt problems in the past and was facing Bankruptcy 4 years ago, losing the house etc. I'm not 4 years down the line, still in my own home and this time next year will be totally debt free as I have paid it all back.We have struggled, sure, and still do, but also, it makes us far more grateful of things that cost nothing at all, a family walk through the woods is far more memorable and special to us than spending ££'s in Theme parks.

Daphine,

That story gave me goose bumps!! I do believe that God speaks to us all the time...we just have to hear HIM. As Liz wrote, "God works in mysterious ways." I have been led by God to do various things on numerous occasions. I've never regretted following Him, either.

I know it isn't always easy to open up about something so personal. However, just know that by sharing your story, you have touched a lot of different people...perhaps even someone who doesn't know the Lord.

Thank you for being such a good role model for what it means to be a Christian and to put God and family at the top of your priority list. You are a blessing!

Daphine, you should never hesitate to share your daily testimony of what God is doing in your life. We are to give Him all the praise and glory and in sharing your story you have done that. And you did it so appropriately as to not put the focus on you. My sister, you did a good thing by sharing what God has done in your life and in the life of your mom. Praise be to Him who we serve!

Thanks for sharing the story...I don't call it personal at all...I'd just call it testimony to God's awesomeness!!!
